TIFF 2010
Personal highlight for me was getting a call from a friend before going to see ROTAIE in the Sheridan Opera House that my name was called out at the Labor Day picnic for winning a trip to Vegas for two. This was a first class trip, too. Other than dining and entertainment, all was paid for to stay at a first rate motel, The Mandarin Oriental.
Highlight this year was the tribute to Colin Firth, who eventually won the Oscar for best actor in KING'S SPEECH. We were treated to the world premiere of the film. During the film, in fact right after a comic moment, someone in the audience was heard screaming. They had to stop the film because someone had a seizure and had to be carried from the venue. That was a first for me. Brings all of the audience back to reality.
Another highlight was knowing nothing about INCENDIES, or its director, Denis Villeneuve, I was thrilled to discover a real gem as was the rest of the audience. Always a great TIFF moment.
